The Constituency Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) for Wa Central, Hanif Jaoto has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency for resorting to politics of insults in their campaign.

He said it was unfortunate the NDC for obvious lack of messagetook delight engaging in personal attacks and invectives against the Parliament Candidate (PC) of the NPP, Hajia Humu Awudu.

According to him, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) , Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo, had taken the people of the constituency for granted for far too long, having devisedunconventional negative political tactics to smear his opponents in order to outwit them.

He made these comments during an interview with Prince Abayema on Tungsung Radio’s afternoon socio-political show dubbed, Yeliminga, Monday 30 November, 2020.

Reacting to an audio in circulation purported to be the voice of the NDC’s Constituency Chair, Chairman Sulley alias Chairman Fuel, Hanif Jaoto, described the situation as unfortunate.

In the said audio, the voice purported to be that of Chairman Fuel at a campaign ground at Kparisaga – a community in Wa Central – the maverick politician was heard describing the NPP PC as a stranger in the constituency.

Even though the PC has a first-degree in Public Administration, he claimed she had not achieved any higher academic laurels while also falsely accusing her of being violent.

Hanif Jaoto, the Commander of the Forest, as he is also known, wondered why the MP and the NDC could not propagate their achievements, if any, to merit their vote, instead of resorting topolitics of insults.

He alleged the MP was again imploring the negative tactics he sought refuge in, during the NDCs Parliamentary Primaries in 2015 by playing the religious card against the then Deputy Regional Minister, Dr. Alfa.

According to him, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo was going around spreading falsehood to the Ahmadiya Community to the effectthat Hajia Humu Awudu had taken back 2 sewing machines she had given to some 2 girls during her official Campaign Launch, just because she realized they were Ahmadis.

The Eagle Commander therefore reminded the people of what the same MP did against Dr. Alfa during the 2015 NDC Primaries. He stated he was not saying this in order to create anarchy but just to serve as a reminder.

He posited politics is about bringing development and growth to the people, urging the constituents to show the incumbent MP the exit by voting for Hajia Humu Awudu to attract the needed transformation of the constituency.
